[Road Trip Idea] - Murphy's Point Provincial Park

Murphy's point provincial park
An approximate 90 minute drive from downtown Ottawa, Murphy's Point provincial park takes you south west of Ottawa through pristine rural Ontario countryside to its location along the shores of the Big Rideau (just south of Perth).

The park offers numerous camping options including electric hook-up campsites.  Once settled in, there are a variety of activity options to choose from.  (The adjacent pictures are from the Point hiking trail with spectacular views of Big Rideau lake.)
As the park is situated between a few bays, shelter is provided to make for calmer water conditions.  This lends to ideal kayaking, canoe and SUP options for water adventure ideas.

Additionally, the Silver Queen Mica Mine located at the park offers an adventure in itself through the old tunnels (guided tour).  (Part of the Seven Wonders of Lanark County.)
