Big Sandy Bay is situated in a conservation area, lending to a true "nature experience". The views of Lake Ontario are spectacular and the 2 + KM wide bay offer countless possibilities (swimming, sun bathing, etc).
Another interesting visual you'll encounter on the drive from the fairy landing to Big Sandy Bay are the hundreds of windmills that dot the country side. When considering Big Sandy Bay as an outing on a weekend or overnight trip, you must plan on fairy waiting times to and from the island. Should you have to wait on Wolfe Island for the Kingston fairy, there are some dinning/snack options. If your feeling extra adventurous you can drive to south-side of the island and catch the St. Vincent fairy to the United States. |
